Barry Dean Robertson, 62, of Norwalk died at 2:30 p.m. March 21, 2025 at Kavanagh House in Des Moines.
He was born November 24, 1962 in Muscatine to Chester “Chet” Leroy and Voleda Hazel “Vicky” Barrows Robertson. He married Cindy Anne McKeever November 21, 1990 and she preceded him in death January 1, 2012. Barry married Susan Kae Jeshani December 14, 2012.
Barry grew up in Oskaloosa and had attended Walsh Jr. High School in Ottumwa. He had worked construction with his father and 10 years at Everco. Barry worked for the Iowa DOT for 24 years, retiring in 2024.
Barry and Susan moved from Ottumwa to Oskaloosa, then to Bondurant, then to Carlisle, with their final move being to Norwalk.
Surviving is his wife, Susan; 2 daughters, Samatha Robertson of Chicago, IL, and Megan Robertson of Ottumwa; 5 step-children, Toni Ives, Traci Counterman, Spenser Jeshani, Brittney Jeshani and Braxton Jeshani; 7 grandchildren, Kaylee Glasgow, Shayla and Taylar Berry, Dean and Drue Snodgrass and Harper and Barrett Jeshani; 4 siblings, Sue (Doug) Witt of Cedar, Linda (Mark) Kelley of Pella, Gail Yurgel and Alan (Phyllis) Robertson both of Edwardsville, KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 siblings, Chet Robertson, Gary Robertson and Mike Robertson; and brother-in-law, John Yurgel.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 26th at Reece Funeral Home with Chaplain Doug McAntire officiating. Burial will be in McCormick Cemetery.
Visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
