We celebrate the life of Trina Marie Thompson, age 68, who was born on January 5, 1956, in Ottumwa, IA, the only child of Millard Thompson and Mary Jane Betts Thompson, and passed from us on December 10, 2024. Trina, a dedicated and smart woman, was a beacon of loyalty and generosity. She had an uncanny ability to brighten up any room she entered and always put others before herself. Trina was a proud graduate of OHS in ’74 and committed many years of her life to working at the canteen. She also worked for a short while at the Indian Hills Community College. Her unwavering dedication was admired by all who worked alongside her. Trina was a loyal resident of Westgate Apartments for 22 years. She was never happier than when she was shopping and visiting friends. Trina also had a deep love for country and Christian music, which she would often play to soothe her soul. Above all, Trina was a devoted daughter. What mattered most to her were her parents, Millard Thompson and Mary Betts, who preceded her in death. She missed them dearly and is now reunited with them. Trina was survived by her cousins, including William Thompson, and her dear friends, Kristen Yeger and Tonya Daugherty. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, with the funeral service also being held on Wednesday at 1:00 pm with Chaplain Doug McAntire officiating at Sinnott Funeral Home in Ottumwa. Memorials may be directed to Heartland Humane Society of Ottumwa. Arrangements being handled with Sinnott Funeral Home of Ottumwa.
