The Ottumwa Community School District announced a road closure amid the continued construction of the competition gym at the high school.
The district says East Second Street, between Union and College Streets, will be closed beginning Monday, December 9, 2024. The adjacent sidewalk will also be closed. Weather permitting, the closure will remain in effect through Friday, December 13, to accommodate work on the Ottumwa Schools competition gymnasium.
During the week of December 9, student pick-up and drop-off, including bus transportation services, will move to the Fourth Street cafeteria entrance. Guests visiting Ottumwa High School are encouraged to park along the open section of Second Street between Jefferson and College Streets or in the student parking lots. The Main Entrance on Second Street will remain open.
