A southeast Iowa man is accused of enticing two underage girls and sending inappropriate photos.
28-year-old Skyler Hartwig of What Cheer was charged with two counts of attempt to entice a minor under 16 and two counts of telephone dissemination of obscene material to a minor.
According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Hartwig began communicating with a girl this past May, whom he believed was under the age of 16. Authorities say the messages included Hartwig trying to convince the child to sneak him into her house so he could spend the night, sex acts he wanted to do to the victim, and attempting to get her to travel with him to engage in sex acts with another male. Hartwig also sent explicit photos and videos to the victim.
Court records say from April to July, Hartwig sent messages to another victim under the age of 16 that contained obscene images. Hartwig also allegedly tried to arrange for the victim to get sexually involved with him and said he would attempt to get a third person involved in their potential trysts.
A warrant for Hartwig’s arrest was issued on July 17 and he was taken into custody on July 30.
Hartwig was taken to the Johnson County Jail. He was released after posting a $10,000 bond.
