Linda Sue Gilmore, 71, of Agency, died July 29, 2024 at her home.
She was born July 25, 1953 in Rock Island, IL to John P. and Beverly J. Piper Hull. She married Steaven Ray Gilmore February 14, 1996.
Growing up in Arizona and Texas, Linda graduated from Garland High in Garland, TX. She had worked for Texas Instruments and as a beautician before moving to Iowa in 1983. She worked several years for the Department of Human Services in Ottumwa.
Linda was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Ottumwa Ward. While growing up, she enjoyed taking walks with her father and sister, Nancy in the desert searching for rocks. She loved being outdoors, fishing and tending to her flowers. The kids in the neighborhood affectionately called her “bird lady” or “grandma”. Linda also enjoyed painting and quilting.
Surviving is her husband, Steaven; her daughter, Gina (Allen) Jones of Van Alstyne, TX; her son, Ben Paul Owens; step-children, Steaven Ray (Kori) Gilmore II, Sean (Brenda) Gilmore, Lynn (Wyatt) Laipple and Alyssa (Kodey) Smith, all of St. Joseph, MO; 10 grandchildren, Briscio Esparza, Kyle, Kara, Kaylin, Carter, Morgan, Parker, Bentley, Raylinn and Seyller; her sister, Nancy Dooley of Missouri Valley; and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be open at 11 a.m. Friday, August 2nd at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, August 3rd at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Bishop Tanner Crossley officiating. Burial will be in Agency Cemetery.
