A Mount Pleasant man is facing a felony theft charge after two excavator buckets belonging to the Henry County Roads Department were reported stolen earlier this year, according to a Henry County Sheriff’s Office press release.

Stacy Sievers, 58, was arrested October 28th on a warrant issued October 26th and charged with Theft in the First Degree, a Class C Felony.

On June 8th, the sheriff’s office received a report that two excavator buckets had been taken from the 2500 block of Iowa Avenue in Mount Pleasant. The buckets, valued at over $10,000 combined, belonged to the Henry County Roads Department. The department created a social media post seeking community assistance in locating them. The buckets were recovered the following day near Iowa Avenue and 265th Street. Further investigation identified Sievers as a suspect.

Sievers has since posted a $10,000 cash bond on October 30th. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 6th.
