Make-A-Wish Iowa will recognize the Turnbull family during the Pella High School football game this evening, highlighting the family’s connection to the organization and its lasting impact on their lives.
The presentation will honor Stella Turnbull, who died last summer just weeks after graduating from Pella High School. Her family has continued to celebrate her life and legacy through community projects and support for organizations that made a difference in her life.
Stella’s mother, Sarah Turnbull, said the family has worked to preserve Stella’s impact through several efforts, including the creation of a new outdoor space at Pella High School.
The family also continues to support Make-A-Wish Iowa, an organization that grants wishes to children with critical illnesses. Sarah said the program made a lasting difference for their family after they participated when Stella was younger, influencing their lives for years afterward.
The recognition comes as Make-A-Wish Iowa celebrates 40 years of creating special moments and memorable experiences for children across the state.
The video presentation during Friday evening’s football game will provide an opportunity for the Pella community to reflect on Stella’s legacy and the lasting influence of organizations that support children and families.
