The City of Fairfield experienced four sanitary sewer overflows during the heavy rainfall that fell last week between the night of September 29th and 8:00 a.m. on October 1st, according to a notice from City of Fairfield Wastewater Superintendent Shawn Worley. Approximately 2.8 inches of rain fell during that period, with heavy rainfall continuing through October 1st.
All four overflow sites have since been cleaned up and treated. The City of Fairfield said it is continuing sewer improvements through a step program.
