The Ottumwa Community School District is mourning the loss of one of its student, Kayleb Kramer, who recently began his junior year at Ottumwa High School.
In a message to families and the school community, the district shared its heartbreak over Kayleb’s passing and extended its thoughts to his family, friends, classmates, teachers and everyone who knew him.
Kayleb was a member of the Ottumwa High School community, and his loss is being felt throughout the district.
School officials say counselors and other support resources are available to students and staff who may be struggling with the loss. The district is encouraging students to reach out to a trusted adult, counselor or staff member if they need someone to talk with.
