A Jefferson County woman is facing a domestic abuse charge after Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a disturbance on North Center Street Sunday night, according to a press release from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and court documents.
Rebecca Carlson, 35, of Lockridge has been charged with Domestic Abuse Assault — Injury or Mental Illness, First Offense, a serious misdemeanor.
Deputies were dispatched at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Sunday, September 13th to the 300 block of North Center Street in Lockridge following a 911 call reporting a disturbance. Upon arrival, deputies located a male subject on scene with injuries, including a bleeding laceration near his right eye, a bleeding hematoma on the back of his head, and dried blood on his hands and scalp. The male was checked out by medical personnel for his injuries.
According to court documents, Carlson told deputies she had acted in self-defense, claiming the male had been choking her and that she struck him multiple times with objects including a skillet and a lighthouse statue. Deputies noted they did not observe any redness on Carlson’s neck to support her account. Carlson had a small bleeding laceration on her right hand.
Carlson was taken into custody and transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility. She is being held on a $1,000 cash or surety bond. A no-contact order has been requested in the case. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 24th.
