Clara Ann Wulf Schock passed away on September 27, 2026 at her home, where she really wanted to be. She had fought a lengthy and mighty battle against cancer and traded her weary mortal flesh for her Lord’s mighty arms.
Clara Ann was born June 29, 1952 to Jacob Ernest and Alice Ruth Moser Wulf of Lester, Iowa. She was the second of eight children. She grew up on her family’s dairy farm and spent her school years aptly navigating the morning milking and the arrival of the school bus, along with her sisters. She attended school in Lester and later attended West Lyon High school and graduated with the class of 1970.
After graduation she continued to work on the family farm for a year, before enrolling and graduating from Airline Stewardess School in Minneapolis. Her heart brought her home again to the farm, until taking an office job at a commission firm at the Sioux Falls Stockyard. It was during this time of her life that she surrendered her life to the Lord in repentance toward God and faith toward her Lord Jesus. She was baptized in His name on January 13, 1974.
She was united in marriage to Doug Schock on Sept 12, 1982 in Lester. They resided on their farm in Bloomfield for the rest of their lives. She fulfilled the roles of devoted wife, loving mother, farm-hand first class, greenhouse grower, landscape lieutenant and grandmother, as well as gracious hostess to many visitors, family and friends. She loved to bake and could often be found in the kitchen looking over the cookbooks and cooking up something for her family. During the holidays, her popcorn cakes, smoked eggs and hockey pucks became the most anticipated items of the gathering.
To this union were born six children.
Surviving are her husband, Douglas; children, Nathan (Kaylyn), Barbara (Dan) Rokey, Loren (Darcy), Steven (Kelli) and Alan (Denalyn); ten beloved grandchildren, Faith, Kina, Grace, Renly, Rowan, Nyah, Tanner, Sophie, Liana, and Hayes.
Other survivors include her sisters, Madonna (Jerry) Krieger, Colleen (Tom) Dogotch, Jenell (Roy) Koehl, Mavis (Mike) Schmidt, Nola (Walt) Gerst; brothers, Harlan (Betty) Wulf, Albert (Jodi) Wulf; her in-laws, Dave and Lori Schock, Dale and Teresa Schock, Dwayne and Jayne Schock, Christine and Jim Berntsen and Rebecca Schock; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, stillborn daughter Faith (1985) and grandson Matthew.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at the Bloomfield Apostolic Christian Church. Burial will follow at the Bloomfield Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 2-5:00 p.m. and from 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, at the church, and also prior to the service on Wednesday morning from 9-9:45 a.m. A memorial has been established to the Bloomfield Apostolic Christian Church for local needs ministry. Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
