Barbara E. Francis, 94, of Ottumwa died at 4:05 p.m. September 17, 2026 at Vista Woods Care Center.
She was born August 7, 1932 in Ottumwa to Jacob and Alta Gilbert Wey. Barbara married Robert C. Francis in 1950 and he preceded her in death February 17, 2023.
A 1950 graduate of Ottumwa High School, she was a homemaker and had been an Avon representative.
Barbara was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Ottumwa. She really enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are her daughters, Terri (Steve) Holmes of Sugar Grove, IL and Carol (Doug) Schooley of Mesa, AZ; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Steven Francis and Ted Francis; a grandson, Bobby Stanzel; sisters, Dorothy Woodard, Ruth Rollins, Alice Penniston and Glenda Walters; brothers, John, Thomas and infant Albert Wey.
Her body has been cremated. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday October 10th at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor James Preus officiating. Her family will be present from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. to greet friends at the church. Inurnment will be in Shaul Cemetery.
