The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is receiving additional support for its Reserve Division following a $17,500 grant from the Greater Jefferson County Foundation.
Reserve deputies accepted the grant on August 18. The funding will be used to purchase Tasers for reserve deputies, giving them another less-lethal option when responding to calls and handling situations that may require additional force.
Sheriff’s officials said the equipment will help reserve deputies carry out their responsibilities while serving and protecting residents throughout Jefferson County.
The sheriff’s office expressed its appreciation to the Greater Jefferson County Foundation for supporting the Reserve Division and contributing to public safety efforts in the community.
