Ottumwa police say a man is behind bars following alleged sexual activity involving an underage girl.
Rolando Zuniga Ramos, 21, has been charged with first-offense third-degree sexual abuse – child victim, person four or more years older, a Class C felony.
According to court records, Zuniga Ramos engaged in sexual activity with a 14-year-old girl at approximately 11 p.m. on October 18. Authorities say Zuniga Ramos knew the victim was 14 years old.
The incident reportedly took place at a residence in the 1200 block of East Second Street in Ottumwa.
Zuniga Ramos was arrested on October 28 and transported to the Wapello County Jail where he is being held without bond.
Zuniga Ramos has a preliminary hearing scheduled for November 6 and has been ordered not to have any contact with the victim.
