- The community is invited to celebrate the official grand opening of the Market Street Landing All Abilities Play Space on Saturday, August 1, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the north downtown entrance of the Market Street Bridge. The celebration will begin with a brief dedication ceremony at 10:00 a.m., officially marking the opening of the play space and recognizing the many individuals, organizations, businesses, and volunteers whose vision and support helped bring the project to life. Following the ceremony, guests are invited to stay and enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities throughout the morning.
The free community celebration will include:- Face painting
- Balloon animals
- A community scavenger hunt
- Giveaways
- Playtime on the new all-abilities playground
- The official unveiling of the play space’s sensory wall
Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore the innovative playground equipment and thoughtfully designed features that make the space welcoming and accessible for individuals of all abilities.
The Market Street Landing All Abilities Play Space was made possible through the partnership of Tenco Foundation, First Resources Corporation, and Ottumwa Legacy Foundation, along with the generous support of community donors, volunteers, organizations, and local
businesses.
The public is encouraged to attend the dedication ceremony, explore the new play space, and join in celebrating this exciting addition to downtown Ottumwa.
