A 28-year-old Ottumwa man was arrested earlier this month after police say he violated a no-contact order.

According to court records, the Ottumwa Police Department responded to the 300 block of Merrouge Avenue at approximately 4:19 p.m. on May 10 for a reported violation of a no-contact order.

Authorities say Quetin Roberts was prohibited from being at the victim’s residence under the terms of the order. Court documents state the victim contacted police after Roberts allegedly came to the residence and refused to leave.

Before officers arrived, Roberts reportedly fled the scene and left his vehicle behind at the residence. Police later located and arrested him.

Roberts was transported to the Wapello County Jail and was later released on a $300 cash/surety bond.

A preliminary conference is scheduled for June 4.

Roberts is charged with violation of a no-contact/protective order, a simple misdemeanor.
