Josh Turek released his plan to Rebuild Rural Iowa. The plan’s three pillars – Fighting for Farmers, Strengthening Communities, and Clean Air and Water for All – acknowledge all the ways Washington is failing rural Iowa, and what Josh will do about it.
“For too long, politicians in Washington have betrayed Iowa’s rural communities, leaving behind the farmers, small businesses, and families they were elected to represent. Ashley Hinson has been nothing but a rubber stamp on policies that have destroyed Iowa’s agricultural economy, decimated rural healthcare, and hollowed out these communities. Unlike Hinson, I will never forget that this is a rural state, and this plan outlines the ways I have and will continue to fight for rural Iowans in every corner of our state,” said Josh Turek.
Josh has a proven track-record of fighting for – and delivering for – Iowa’s rural communities. He partnered with the Ranking Member of the Iowa House Agriculture Committee (and Turek endorser) Rep. J.D. Scholten to sponsor the Regaining Iowa Farmers’ Independence Plan. One key aspect of the plan, a Right to Repair bill, recently passed the House with bipartisan support. Josh has also fought for Mandatory Country of Origin Labeling, sponsored legislation to fight consolidation so that small farmers and ranchers can compete, sponsored legislation to break up fertilizer monopolies, and fought to provide farmers incentives to engage in practices that protect water and soil quality.
