The Van Buren County girls and boys golf teams both picked up victories Monday, April 13th at Deerwood Golf Club in New London on the par-36 course.
Girls Results
The Van Buren County girls edged New London 238 to 243 in a close team competition. Sophia Jirak led the way, winning individual medalist honors with a 52, 16 over par. Adelaide Kaemmerer placed fourth with a 59, Maddie Cocherell sixth with a 63, Teagan Sickels and Macolie McEntee tied for seventh with 64s each, and Hadley Noe rounded out the scorecard in 11th with a 69. Katelyn Allen of New London placed second individually with a 56.
Boys Results
The Van Buren County boys had a more dominant showing, defeating New London 162 to 193. Will Cocherell won individual medalist honors with a 38, followed closely by Leo Jirak in second with a 39. Aden Debner placed third with a 42, Jerrod Griffin fourth with a 43, Ethan Pforts sixth with a 45, and Cooper Richardson seventh with a 47. Van Buren County swept the top four individual spots and five of the top six on the day.
