UnityPoint Health is moving forward with a workforce reduction that will impact 207 information technology employees as part of a broader restructuring plan tied to financial challenges.

The health system says it will shift portions of its IT and revenue cycle work to an outside vendor later this year. Officials cite a mix of rising costs, lower insurance reimbursements, and growing demand for complex medical services as reasons for the change.

Leadership described the decision as difficult but necessary. CEO Scott Kizer said the organization recognizes the impact on staff while emphasizing the need to strengthen long-term financial stability.

UnityPoint Health, which employs more than 31,000 people across hundreds of clinics and hospitals in the Midwest, says it remains focused on maintaining patient care as it adjusts internal operations.
