James “Jamie” Leon Francis, 65, of Davis County, Iowa passed away on April 19, 2026 at Good Samaritan Society – Ottumwa. He was born on September 22, 1960 in Davis County, Iowa to Jerry and Lorene Nicoli Francis. He graduated from Davis County High School in 1979. Jamie had worked for Werts Corporation in Bloomfield, was a farmhand, worked on bridges for Iowa Bridge and Culvert, and also worked on the family dairy farm.
Jamie loved to fish, play billiards, and go hunting; he especially enjoyed deer, coyote, coon, and bird hunting. He loved to be around people and was always up for an adventure. He will be missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by two brothers, John Francis of Bloomfield, Jeremie (Rebecca) Francis of Bloomfield; niece, Adeline Francis; nephew, Jeremiah Francis; extended family; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jack Francis; and an infant sister.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Don Naftz officiating. Burial will be at the Troy Cemetery in Troy, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday with the family present to greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to his family to be designated later.
