Russell Alan Hinebaugh, 69, of Ottumwa died at 12:00 p.m. February 21, 2026 at Ridgewood Specialty Care.
He was born October 8, 1956 in Ottumwa to John Robert “Bob” and Rilla Mae Snowbarger Hinebaugh.
A 1974 graduate of Ottumwa High School Russell moved to Missouri for 24 years and has been back in Iowa since 2011. He worked as a farm hand, a foreman at Wausau Home, 2 years for Grooms Brothers, 6 years at Hormel and 24 years as a USDA Federal Food Inspector, retiring in 2009.
Russell was a member of First Baptist Church.
Surviving are his daughters, Laurie (Rob) McKinnon of Ottumwa, Amber (Dan) McCrady of Ankeny; a son, Christopher (Carolyn) Hinebaugh of Everton, MO; 7 grandchildren, Colton McKinnon, Ryan McKinnon, Katie McKinnon, Zander McCrady, Kloie McCrady, Gavin McCrady and Alice Hinebaugh.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant twins, Sam and David Lokenvitz; brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Brenda Hinebaugh.
His body has been cremated.
A time to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
