An Ottumwa man faces numerous charges after allegedly pointing a gun at an employee and making threats last Friday.
38-year-old Nathaniel Triplett was charged with the following:
- Trafficking in stolen weapon used in crime (Class C felony)

The criminal complaint says Triplett left the store after another employee called the police. According to authorities, officers found a bag that contained the firearm Triplett allegedly brandished in the store. Investigators noted the serial number was filed off the gun, indicating that it was stolen.
Triplett was convicted of a felony in 2022, making it illegal for him to possess a gun.
Triplett was arrested and transported to the Wapello County Jail. His bail was set at $20,000.
Triplett has a preliminary hearing scheduled for March 3rd.
