Jeff Kulmatycki, an Air Force veteran, small business owner and Appanoose County supervisor, announced today his campaign for Iowa Senate in District 13.
“Growing up in a military household, I moved from town to town and school to school. It was southern Iowa where I decided to settle down and build a life,” said Kulmatycki. “As a small business owner, I will work to make it easier to start and grow a business in Iowa – making Iowa the most small business-friendly state in the country. If you’re willing to take a risk and grow our local economy, I will be on your side.
“As a county supervisor, I voted to cut taxes and wasteful spending and increased veteran services to the 800 veterans in Appanoose County. As your state senator, I will take my community-first mindset to Des Moines and ensure southern Iowa is not being left behind. I will fiercely protect our right to free speech, our right to bear arms, the family budget, and our right to private property. I also will fight for pro-family policies and fight to protect innocent life.
“I have been proud to serve my country, serve my community, and now I am proud to run for Iowa Senate. I am looking forward to talking with voters about my priorities, how to support rural Iowans, and continue making Iowa a great place for families to live and grow.”
Kulmatycki attended Indian Hills Community College, where he made the decision to serve his country in the Air Force just as his father did, and did so for nine years. He has been married to his wife, Julie, for nearly 20 years. Together they have seven children and seven grandchildren. He has served for the past five years on the Appanoose County Board of Supervisors and is the successful owner of two small businesses in Centerville.
