The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is recognizing the loyal and dedicated service of K9 “Cy” Cygan, who officially retired in October 2025 after seven years of service.
Appointed in June 2018, Cy served alongside Deputy Tyler Rysdam and the law enforcement community of Jefferson County with unwavering commitment, courage, and heart.
“For seven years, Cy was more than just a partner — he was a protector, a teammate, and a trusted guardian of our citizens,” the Sheriff’s Office stated.
“Thank you, Cy, for your loyalty, your bravery, and your partnership. You have earned your retirement.”
