Fairfield Art Association Announces 60th Anniversary Membership Exhibit

The Fairfield Art Association is inviting local and regional artists to participate in its annual Membership Exhibit—this year unveiling an all-new format in celebration of the FAA’s 60th anniversary.

The 2026 exhibit theme, “Something Old and Something New,” encourages artists to showcase their creative journey over time. Each participant may submit two original works:

  • One piece created five or more years ago
  • One piece created within the past year

Artists are allotted up to 600 square inches of display space for both entries combined. The FAA provides an easy formula for calculating this space in the official guidelines and offers assistance to any artist who needs it.

Entry Details

Adult artists may deliver their artwork January 27–30 between 1–5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, to the FAA studio located inside the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center.

Entry forms—which outline requirements for labeling, accepted hanging methods, sales pricing, and FAA membership categories—are available:

Exhibit Dates

The 60th Anniversary Membership Exhibit will be displayed in the Main Gallery at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center (200 N. Main St., Fairfield, IA).

  • Opening: Friday, February 6th, 2026
  • Closing: End of March 2026

A date for the Awards Celebration will be announced later. Cash prizes will be awarded for the top four entries, and visitors will have the opportunity to vote for the People’s Choice Award.

Looking Back and Looking Forward

In introducing the theme, the FAA shared hopes that artists will reflect on how their work has grown over the years.

“We hope this ‘Old & New’ theme will be fun and stir conversations about where we have been as artists and where we are now—maybe our media and styles have greatly changed, our color palettes, or who has influenced us.”

The FAA encourages all artists, longtime members and newcomers alike, to join in this milestone celebration of creativity and artistic evolution.
