Allan Lee Talbert, 72, of Marion, formerly of Ottumwa died at 8:54 p.m. November 13, 2025 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Marion, IA.
He was born August 15, 1953 in Ottumwa to Earl “Roy” and Marilyn Welch Talbert. He married Cindy Mette and they later divorced.
A graduate of Ottumwa High School, he had served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years before retiring.
He was a member of American Legion Post #679 in Palo, IA.
Allan was an avid outdoorsman where he loved hunting and fishing and was an expert at bow hunting.
Surviving are two nieces, Stacy (Jeff) Paxton of Pella and Carrie Mundt of Ottumwa; and a nephew, Todd Talbert (Christine Watts) of Oskaloosa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, David Talbert; a sister, Linda Talbert; and a great nephew, Tristin Seemann.
His body has been cremated.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, November 20th at Reece Funeral Home followed by military honors conducted by O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion and Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
Inurnment will be in Ottumwa Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the family to be designated at a later date.
