Patty Eloise Engelhardt, 83, of Bloomfield, died at 10:15 a.m. October 29, 2025 at her home.
She was born July 9, 1942 in Ottumwa to Paul H. and Ina Josephine Ruby McElroy. She married Kurt Engelhardt July 2, 2001.
Growing up in Ottumwa, Patty attended Ottumwa High School. Patty lived in Annapolis, MD where she was the manager of a dry-cleaning business before moving back to Ottumwa in 2000.
Patty was a member of a bowling league and enjoyed attending bowling tournaments. She also enjoyed taking care of her flowers and especially enjoyed her cats and her basset hound, Susie Q. Patty was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.
Surviving is her husband, Kurt; her son, Dennis (Mary Sigman) Zellers of Ottumwa; 2 granddaughters, Kristin (Jim) Freeman of Urbandale and Samantha (Nick) Ulin of Agency; 5 great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Dalton, Noah, Payton and Chase; 2 sisters, Shirley Mosher and Arletta (Jarry) Shipley both of Ottumwa; and brother, Ed (Barb) McElroy of Ottumwa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gary Lee Zellers II; and sisters, JoAnn Thomann and Alberta Owens.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, November 1st at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Phil Griffith officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The family will be present to greet friends one hour prior to the service.
