Gregory “Greg” Lee Stevens, 71, of Bloomfield, Iowa passed away on October 28, 2025 at Good Samaritan Society – Ottumwa. He was born on February 28, 1954 in Iowa City, Iowa to Richard and Rosabelle Knott Stevens. He served in the Army for three years with most of his time being stationed in Germany, and then in the Army Reserves for six years. On June 26, 1999 he married Cathy Arnold in Bloomfield.
Greg drove a semi for over 20 years and he loved being out on the road. While not working, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching Christmas movies (which he did all year), and watching NASCAR. He was an avid NASCAR fan and went to many races over the years. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy; daughters, Kristin Stevens of Ottumwa, Samantha (Lance) Langstraat of Bloomfield; eight grandchildren, LayLynn Langstraat, AJ, Martin, Steven, Chris, Cordy, Catherine, and Juan Ontiveros; great-grandson, Benjamin Ontiveros; four honorary grandchildren, Avery, Brylee, and Teagan Veatch, McKenzie Marsh; sister, Georgia Stevens of Bloomfield; and two brothers, Rodney Stevens of Bloomfield, Jerry Stevens of Sun City West, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gail Beal; and a nephew, Tony Hamilton.
Greg’s wish was to be cremated and no services are planned. A memorial has been established to his family and may be mailed to: Cathy Stevens, 705 W. Franklin St., Bloomfield, Iowa 52537.
