On September 1st, the Marion County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call at the Knoxville Hospital regarding a reported domestic violence incident. Upon arrival, officers spoke with 52-year-old Sidinia Dwigans, who admitted to slapping her husband during a heated dispute.
According to court documents, the altercation began after Dwigans discovered a text message on her husband’s phone that she believed indicated infidelity. In a moment of anger, she struck him, leaving a visible red welt behind his left ear.
Dwigans later expressed remorse for her actions, acknowledging that she was wrong to resort to violence. As a result of the incident, she was arrested and taken to the Marion County Jail. A bond of $1,000 was set, along with a no-contact order.
Dwigans is facing charges of Domestic Abuse Assault – injury or mental illness, classified as a serious misdemeanor. A hearing is scheduled for September 12th at 9:00 AM, where the court will address the matter further.
