Larry W. Ellis, 83, of Ottumwa, died at 12:03 a.m. September 10, 2025 at his home.
He was born December 17, 1941 in Ottumwa to Charles and Lucille Lane Ellis. He married the love of his life, Donna Kay Wilson November 27, 1965, and she preceded him in death May 2, 2014.
A 1960 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Larry served in the US Air Force from 1960 to 1964, serving 2 years at Ellsworth Air Force Base and 2 years in Alaska.
Larry worked at John Morrel until 1973 and then for John Deere Ottumwa Works, retiring in 1999.
He was an avid golfer and bowler.
Larry was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and a life member of O. B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion.
Surviving are his children, Kevin (Loni) Ellis, Michael (Linda) Ellis, Karen Ellis and Teresa Ellis all of Ottumwa and Matthew (Mary) Ellis of Fairfield and their children, Mason (Cheyanne) Ellis, Mia (Ricky) Griffin; 5 additional grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Steve (Pam) Ellis of Plain City, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 sisters, Marsha Vincent, Charlotte Harter, Charlene Ellis, Carolyn Ellis; a brother, Gene Ellis.
Visitation will begin 11 a.m. Sunday, September 14th, at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral services with Rosary will be 1 p.m. Monday, September 15th, at Reece Funeral Home with Father Isaac Doucette officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with military honors conducted by Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foren Wars and O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion.
