Beverly Jean Kooker, also affectionately known as Bev, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at the Lucas County Health Center in Chariton. She was born on September 25, 1945 in Ottumwa, Iowa.
Beverly had a deep-rooted connection to Iowa, having been born, raised, and spent her life in this beautiful state. She brought a unique warmth and love to all she encountered, maintaining a loving and welcoming home for her family. Her hobbies were a testament to her love of creating and nurturing. She was an expert at crocheting, knitting, and baking, each creation a tangible manifestation of her love and care. Beverly also cherished her time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each moment a precious memory. She also loved spending time by the river, where she spent 42 joyful years, a place of peace and tranquility for her. Above all, what mattered most to Beverly was her entire blended family. Her love for them was boundless and unchanging.
She is survived by her loving family and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Beverly was preceded in death by her father, Mike Williams and her mother, Retha Williams. She is survived by her husband, David Kooker of Albia; children, Michelle (Jud) Yetley of Coraville, John Scott Blomgren and Kim of Lovilia, Joe Blomgren of Lovilia; step-children, Dennis (Shelia) Kooker of McKinney, TX, Eric (Jennifer) Kooker of Iowa City, Penny (Alan) Wildin of Winterset; numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren; one twin brother, Michael (Barb) Williams of Springwater, NY. Bev is also survived by her cousin, Dean (Natalie) Lathrop and their family.
Beverley had requested no services. Beverly’s life was a testament to the power of love and family, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. We encourage everyone who knew Beverly to visit the memorial page.
