The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is looking into the heartbreaking death of a 3-year-old boy in Bondurant.
Emergency crews were called to a home in the 3400 block of Hawthorn Drive on the southwest side of town after a report of an unresponsive child. Despite the quick response from sheriff’s deputies and Bondurant EMS, the little boy could not be saved.
Detectives, along with the Polk County Medical Examiner’s Office, are now working to understand what happened. Officials have said this appears to be an isolated incident, and there’s no threat to the surrounding community.
Right now, there are still many unanswered questions. Authorities say more details will be released as the investigation moves forward.
