At just 16 years old, Ottumwa native Julian is already making waves with the launch of his very own food truck, La Corona. Inspired by the animated movie Turbo when he was just a kid, Julian’s love for cooking started early — but his real training came from growing up in a tight-knit Hispanic family where food brings everyone together.

Julian has taken several culinary classes to sharpen his skills, but he credits his grandma Blanca as his greatest teacher. “Everything I know started in her kitchen,” he says with pride.

La Corona Food Truck is serving up a delicious lineup of authentic Mexican dishes, including:

  • Tacos and Tacos Dorados
  • Ceviche de Jaiba (crab) and Ceviche de Camarón (shrimp)
  • Fan favorites like Crazy Cucumbers
  • Plus, freshly squeezed lemonade to cool you down

And on Sundays, you’re in for a treat — a special combo plate featuring rice, your choice of macaroni or potato salad, a protein of your choice, and fresh pico de gallo.

La Corona will be rotating through different locations around Ottumwa, so you’ll want to follow them on social media to see where they’ll pop up next.

What started as a young boy’s dream is now a real-life business with a lot of heart — and even more flavor.

La Corona Food Truck: local flavor, local pride, and every bite made with love.
