With profound sadness, the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club announces the passing of former President and Handler, William “Bill” Deeley. Bill was a cherished leader within our organization and an integral figure in the growth and global recognition of Groundhog Day.
For years, Bill embodied the spirit, magic, and cheer that defines our beloved tradition. Under his leadership, Groundhog Day evolved from a small-town celebration into an internationally recognized event, touching countless lives across the world while remaining deeply rooted in the heart of Punxsutawney.
