A 61-year-old woman from California is in custody in Davenport, accused of being part of a nationwide bank fraud ring that authorities say has stolen millions of dollars using forged identification documents.

According to local law enforcement, the woman and a male accomplice allegedly used counterfeit U.S. passport cards to withdraw approximately $38,000 from multiple banks across the Quad Cities in recent weeks. Investigators believe the same suspects conducted similar operations in Iowa City and Coralville.

Authorities say the woman was already wanted in Minnesota on a charge related to forged identification. Another suspected member of the same fraud ring was recently arrested in Wisconsin

Formal charges are expected to be filed in the coming days. The investigation remains ongoing, with assistance from federal and state agencies across multiple jurisdictions.
