A medical supply company in Grimes is set to shut its doors later this year, leaving dozens of employees without work.
American Contract Services, which handles packaging and sterilization for healthcare products, has announced it will close its Grimes facility. According to the Iowa WARN Notification List, 62 workers will be laid off when the facility officially shuts down on July 31.
The company has not publicly shared the reasons behind the closure.
The news is a tough blow for employees and the Grimes community.
