The Double Up Food Bucks program has expanded to include all 76 Fareway grocery stores across Iowa.
This initiative allows SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) users to receive an extra $15 in Double Up Food Bucks when they spend $15 of their SNAP benefits on eligible items. These funds can be used specifically for locally grown fruits and vegetables. All SNAP participants in the state are eligible to participate in the program. The expansion is part of an effort led by the Iowa Healthiest State Initiative to improve access to fresh, healthy food.
