The Fairfield Community School District is celebrating significant progress in both its graduation and dropout rates, with the district’s 2025 numbers surpassing the state average and marking years of steady improvement.
The district’s four-year graduation rate climbed to 92.71% in 2025, up from 85.5% in 2024 and well above the state average of 88.8%. The improvement represents a remarkable turnaround from 78.8% in 2021, reflecting years of sustained effort to keep students on track. At the same time, the dropout rate has fallen to 1.26% in 2025, down from 2.21% in 2024 and significantly lower than the 3.23% recorded in 2019.
District leaders attribute the progress to a focused approach on student support, vision-aligned work, engagement, and targeted interventions designed to keep students moving toward graduation.
Superintendent Zach Wigle said the numbers reflect a community-wide effort. “These results showcase the hard work of our students, staff, and families,” Wigle said. “We are proud of the progress we’ve made and remain committed to supporting every student on their path to graduation. Our goal is for 100% of seniors to graduate with a clear plan for employment, enlistment, or enrollment.”
