Oskaloosa City Council member Charlie Comfort announced his resignation at the May 6 council meeting, effective May 14. Comfort is stepping down after more than three years on the council due to his family’s move outside city limits. A lifelong resident and current President of the Oskaloosa School Board, Comfort has been active in local government since high school and served on several city commissions.
“It’s been an honor to serve the people of Oskaloosa,” Comfort said, reflecting on over seven years of public service. The council has not yet decided how his seat will be filled.
