The Ottumwa Regional Legacy Foundation’s Skatepark Steering Committee is thrilled to announce the development of a new skate park, set to be constructed next to the JBS Sports Plex. Designed to be a premier destination for both local and visiting skaters, the park is expected to span approximately 10,000 square feet and will be made entirely of concrete, offering a durable and smooth surface for skating.

- Concrete Construction: Providing a long-lasting and high-quality skating surface.

- Lighting: The park will be fully lighted, allowing for extended hours of use in the evening.
- Prime Location: Situated adjacent to the JBS indoor Sports Complex, the park will serve as a vibrant recreational hub.
- Expert Design: The skate park will be designed and built by Spohn Ranch, a renowned park builder from California, with design input from an Iowa-based designer.
- Community Input: The design was developed based on feedback collected through a public survey conducted several months ago, ensuring that it meets the needs and desires of the local skateboarding community.

The anticipated completion date for the skate park is November 2025. The Skatepark Steering Committee encourages community members to participate in this exciting project by making donations, which can be directed to The Legacy Foundation Office located at 111 East Main Street, Ottumwa.
