The Iowa Department of Corrections is proud to announce that K9 Khaos will receive a new bullet- and stab-proof vest, thanks to a generous donation from the nonprofit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.
Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization whose mission is to provide protective body armor to K9s serving in law enforcement and related agencies across the United States. Each vest is custom-fitted and certified by the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) to ensure the highest standards of protection.
K9 Khaos’ vest is sponsored by the Nancy Allison Perkins Foundation of Homer Glen, Illinois. The vest will be embroidered with the words: “Honoring those who served and sacrificed.”
Founded in 2009, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. has provided over 5,400 protective vests to working dogs in all 50 states, significantly enhancing the safety of these vital four-legged officers.
The Iowa Department of Corrections is deeply grateful for the support that helps protect K9 Khaos as he continues his service to the community.
