When emergency crews arrived at a farm south of Winterset, They found Mark Hollingsworth, 76, injured and unresponsive inside a cattle feeding area.
Authorities said the investigation shows that Hollingsworth entered the cattle pen to make sure the water source had not froze over.
That when Hollingsworth was injured by the bull.
After life saving efforts was unsuccessful, Hollingworth was pronounced deceased at the scene.
