An Ottumwa man is accused of breaking into a garage and causing extensive damage to the property.
38-year-old Ross Cobler was charged with second-degree criminal mischief, a Class D felony.
On December 9 at 12:45 PM, court records say Cobler entered a property on the 500 block of Appanoose Street and broke into a detached garage. Cobler broke a window, the garage door, two grow lights, ten solar lights, and more, according to police. Cobler allegedly caused between $3,000 and $4,000 worth of property damage.
Authorities say Cobler admitted to the break-in after he was read his Miranda rights.
Cobler was arrested and transported to the Wapello County Jail. He is being held without bond pending a hearing with a magistrate judge.
