An Ottumwa man was arrested for allegedly damaging a pair of garage doors while attempting a break-in.
Earl Tanner, 37, was charged with second-degree criminal mischief, a Class D felony.
On July 28th at approximately 12:45 PM, Tanner went into the property on the 1400 block of Sawnson Avenue in Ottumwa that is part of an ongoing estate case, according to court records.
Police say Tanner attempted to gain entry into the garage on the property and caused over $1,500 worth of damage to two garage doors.
Tanner was arrested on August 1st and was transported to the Wapello County Jail. He was later freed after posting a $5,000 bond.
Tanner has an initial court appearance scheduled for August 4th.
