A SE Iowa suspect was arrested after allegedly firing gun shots at an individual, according to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office.
24-year-old Austin Becker of Bonaparte was charged with 1st degree harassment, assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, and use of a dangerous weapon in the commission of a crime.
On November 12 at 8:15 a.m., the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of gun shots being fired near 1st Street and Washington Street in Bonaparte.
After a pursuit from investigators, Becker and the suspected victim were identified. Authorities say neither of the individuals were injured during the incident.
Becker was transported to the Van Buren County Jail. He has a $3,000 bond and a preliminary hearing on November 21.
