Visit Fairfield Convention and Visitors Bureau has announced the appointment of Kelly Wisecarver to its Board of Directors, according to a press release from the organization.
Wisecarver brings an extensive background in marketing, public relations, and community promotion to the role. A Fairfield High School graduate with strong local roots, she recently returned to the area after building a successful career in Chicago, where she founded Wisecarver Public Relations and worked with regional and national clients across a wide range of industries — including hospitality and tourism, nonprofits, consumer products, commercial real estate, architecture, grocery and food manufacturing, and retail. Since relocating to Fairfield, she has been applying her expertise in strategic marketing communications, public relations, and event management to Southeast Iowa-based companies.
Wisecarver’s board experience includes serving as marketing chair on the board of directors for the Downtown Hayward Business Improvement District in Wisconsin, where she helped promote the community’s more than 50 unique businesses, and serving as a longtime board member of The Magnificent Mile Association in Chicago.
Wisecarver grew up in Libertyville, where her family still resides. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Media and Mass Communications from Iowa State University.
Visit Fairfield Executive Director Terry Baker said Wisecarver’s background makes her a natural fit for the board. “We’re excited to welcome Kelly to the board. She brings a wonderful combination of big-city marketing experience and small-town understanding.”
Wisecarver joins the board at a time when Visit Fairfield is expanding its efforts to develop new visitor experiences, strengthen hospitality partnerships, and position Fairfield as a distinctive destination for leisure travelers, meetings, and group events.
