Linda Harrington, 64, of rural Bloomfield, Iowa passed away on October 22, 2024 at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield. She was born on April 29, 1960 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Robert Arthur and Beverly JoAnn Ross McNiel. She graduated from Davis County High School in 1978. On December 20, 1986 she married Brian Harrington surrounded by the Christmas lights at the old REC Building in Bloomfield. The couple enjoyed many wonderful years together and raised two boys, Spencer and Ross.
Linda worked at the Gilfillan Clinic in Bloomfield for several years. She later worked for the Farm Service Agency (FSA-USDA) in Bloomfield, retiring in 2021 after 20 years on the job. She loved planting and taking care of her flowers, gardening, and spending time with her family – especially her grandson, Westin. She was a member of the Bloomfield Christian Church.
She is survived by her husband, Brian Harrington; two sons, Spencer Harrington, Ross (Melinda) Harrington both of Floris, Iowa; and grandson, Westin Harrington.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Kenneth McNiel.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 28, 2024 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Don Naftz officiating. Burial will be at the Unionville Cemetery in Unionville, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Monday with the family present to greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to the Look to the Stars Cancer Foundation in Bloomfield and the Bloomfield Christian Church.
