Paul Howard Fenton, 70, of Ottumwa, died August 27, 2024 at his home.

He was born March 9, 1954 in Ottumwa to Billie and Irene Schantz Fenton. He married Miriam F. Johnson August 2, 1991.

A graduate of North English High School, Paul had been a restaurant manager for 30 years, ending his career at Fiesta Cantina. He had worked as a department manager at Econofoods and South Hy-Vee.

Paul was a member of Heartland Bootscooters, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #114 and the Izaak Walton League. Paul had been an involved parent in Boy Scout Troop 2. He enjoyed building mechanical models, woodworking and working on house projects. He also enjoyed fishing and wildlife and loved to feed the deer. Paul taught himself to play piano.

Surviving is his wife, Miriam; their sons, Jeffrey (Hilary) Fenton of Des Moines and Christopher (Emily) Fenton of Waterloo; and his loving cat, Molly.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandmother, Juanita Meister; many aunts and uncles; and his beloved dog, Penny.

Visitation will be open at 3 p.m. Thursday, August 29th at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, August 30th at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Heartland Humane Society or Heartland Bootscooters or to the family.
