An Ottumwa man attempting to evade his arrest, fell, and was found in possession of drugs.
Joshua Taylor was charged with interference with official acts, possession of a schedule II drug, and possession with a drug paraphernalia.
On August 28 at 4:12 a.m, court records say officers approached Taylor related to a warrant for his arrest. Officers say Taylor fled by foot after being commanded to stop and fell after an attempt to reach in his pocket. According to authorities, an unlabeled bottle containing 65 Oxycodone Hydrochloride pills was located where Taylor fell.
After the arrest, authorities conducted a search on Taylor and found a glass pipe with drug residue in his pocket.
Taylor was taken to the Wapello County Jail. He has a $10,000 bond and a preliminary hearing on September 6.
