An Ottumwa man cut a victim with a knife in a dog dispute.
41-year-old Cody Baugher was charged with willful injury, a class D felony, and assault with a dangerous weapon.
On August 13, court records say Baugher went to the victim’s residence to retrieve a dog and was approached by the victim. Authorities say Baugher was in possession of a knife and attempted to cut the victim. The victim received wounds in his hands in an attempt to defend himself.
Baugher was taken to the Wapello County Jail. He is being held without bond pending a hearing with a magistrate judge.
